Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Microsoft Word - And More!

We're trialling a new kind of webinar this Thursday. Instead of our usual format of a presentation followed by a Q & A session, we've invited experienced trainer and translator Hacène Dramchini to take us through a hands-on workshop.

We wanted to start with something that would be useful to a wide range of translators, so we've gone for a detailed review of the more advanced features of Microsoft Word as they apply to translators. And it might be worth thinking twice before dismissing this as something you know all about: if there's one thing my stints in-house have taught me, it's that most translators have no idea how to return a properly formatted Word document - whether they realise it or not.

And so Hacène has worked hard to create a series of exercises that we'll work through together during the two 2-hour sessions (don't worry - there's time for a break included in each one). By the end, everyone should have a good understanding of how to work with the finer details of invisibles, fonts, tabs, tables, styles and page layouts in this most essential of translator tools.

Of course, we'll send you a recording of the webinar after the event so you can return to review specific parts of the workshop at your own pace. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions, so bring along your most niggling concerns or most tiresome processes and see if Hacène can't help shed new light on an old issue for you.

We're keen to hear your feedback on this kind of session, so be sure to let us know what you think.
