Covering all our bases: how do we do that?

As you've probably noticed by now, you can engage in many different kinds of professional development as a translator, interpreter or professional linguist.

Some of the main categories include:
  1. Language development and maintenance (source and target languages)
  2. Subject-specific knowledge or skills (including translation or interpreting ability)
  3. Business practice
  4. IT and internet skills
  5. Personal development
If you're looking for specific ideas, there's a detailed list of examples here.

We're already planning our webinars for next year, and we're keen to have events in as many of these categories as possible. Some are trickier to cover than others, though.

What kind of a webinar would help you maintain your source or target language skills, for example? What kind of topics would interest you in the area of personal development? We have a few ideas of our own as practicing translators, but we'd love to hear what you think too. And we don't want our interpreter friends to feel left out either - what can we offer you?

Feel free to leave a comment below or email us with your ideas - who knows, we may even have a treat in store for the best suggestion!
